VEGAS LEX on up-to-date dispute resolution practices

The program of the event was based on VEGAS LEX lawyers’ experience in anti-monopoly cases from the past 12 months. The speakers discussed the main trends in modern anti-monopoly dispute resolution. 

The seminar was moderated by VEGAS LEX Managing Partner Alexander Sitnikov.

Other VL speakers included head of Litigation Practice Kirill Trukhanov and project manager, Senior Associate Maria Borzova. The experts spoke about modern judicial practice in contesting the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service’s (FAS) decisions on cartel cases and explained the standards for proving violations of anti-monopoly laws and the sufficiency of aggregate indirect evidence. They also discussed cases of recovery of damages from violation of competition laws and the application of WTO law by Russian courts dealing with private-law disputes.

Natalya Pronina from the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service’s Department for Control over Power Energy Sector was specially invited to speak at the event. Her presentation was devoted to FAS involvement in litigation as a third party and other procedural issues related to anti-monopoly disputes considered by anti-monopoly regulators and courts.

The event was attended by representatives of major Russian and foreign companies, state corporations and public associations.
