No successful construction project is possible without a proper implementation scheme and a structure of the relationship of its participants. Given that, interests of the customer and the main contractor often do not coincide and are even in conflict, especially during economic crisis or recession.

How to choose the best organization scheme for a construction project, to reduce risks of failure to perform works, to increase the chances for efficient communication between the parties and, as a result, to succeed in completion of the construction project avoiding any losses? In what manner to act when the difficulties have already occurred – these and many other questions were discussed during the Real Estate Conference arranged by VEGAS LEX and GK Spectrum supported by RBC.

In his speech, Dmitry Volkov, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Utility Sector of the Russian Federation told the participants about current tasks of the ministry aimed at development of the sector, encouragement of companies providing the independent work services, and the initiatives to control prices for construction materials.

Further, Igor Chumachenko, Partner, Head of Real Estate, Land & Construction practice, and Sergey Serbash, LL.D., retired judge of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation, gave advice on how to minimize risks and losses in the customer-contractor relationship and spoke of current tendencies in court practice associated with such relationship.

Subsequently, experts of GK Spectrum Alexander Mutovkin and Dmitry Luchansky revealed key peculiarities, advantages and disadvantages or the existing schemes of arranging the construction process and spoke of the specifics of procurement, contracting, cost management and control in construction projects sharing the information about the experience of the company.

Over 70 reps of top managers and lawyers from the real estate and construction sector took part in the event.
