Sixth Northern Dimension Forum: VEGAS LEX on ways to pressure consumers during recessionThe Sixth Northern Dimension Forum* took place in St. Petersburg on March 26, 2015. The event focused on interregional cross-border cooperation amid the changing realities, including some new approaches to business development in the Northern Dimension Countries. The forum featured roundtables on power generation and energy saving; the environment and nature conservation; professional training; transport and logistics; medicine and pharmaceuticals; and creative industries. Head of the VEGAS LEX Energy Projects Practice Evgeniy Rodin spoke at the session on power generation and energy saving. His report, Methods of Pressuring Consumers during General Economic Contraction, was devoted to the problems, rights and responsibilities of all players involved in the retail electricity market. The roundtable participants discussed the future of power generation in Russia given the new macroeconomic realities, distributed generation at industrial facilities, reactive power compensation and other issues.
