Russian Business Week 2014: VEGAS LEX on environmental and industrial security

Evgeniy Rodin, head of VEGAS LEX’s Energy Projects Practice, delivered a report on legal aspects of reliable power supply guarantees during a plenary session that focused on industrial security issues.

Other speakers at the conference included Viktoria Venchikova, deputy head of the Natural Resources Ministry’s department for government policy and regulation in the sphere of environmental protection and security; Alexei Ferapontov, deputy chairman of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service (Rostechnadzor); Vadim Geraskin, deputy CEO of Basic Element; Igor Zhuk, deputy head of the Financial Markets Service at the Bank of Russia; Oleg Nikolenko, co-chairman of the Industrial Security Committee at the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and others.

In the modern world, businesses are becoming closely involved in shaping their countries’ environmental policies. Government agencies responsible for these policies often find its expedient to apply leading industrial companies’ experience when defining their priorities. It is highly important that companies and policymakers cooperate in drafting environmental policies.
