VEGAS LEX discusses legal support of non-state pension funds by external consultants

On September 30, 2016, the National Association of Non-State Pension Funds (NAPF) hosted a workshop in Moscow on The Judicial and Arbitration Practices in the Pension Market. Head of VEGAS LEX Litigation group Victor Petrov spoke at the event about disputes of varied complexity levels, highlighting the key issues that arise at each stage of dispute resolution and that external consultants can help handle. He also listed the main legal position risks for non-state pension funds (NPF), cited some successful judicial cases and noted the benefits of consultants' work on those cases.

The participants also discussed the practice of litigation between pension funds and asset management companies, including cases that involve administrative sanctions. They considered ways to challenge the provisions of NPF Rules and non-state pension contracts that regulate NPF incorporation and NPF shareholders’ claims, as well as other disputes that are of importance to the market.
