VEGAS LEX discusses energy supply to industrial facilities and environmental management at Basic Element Group conference

On December 14, 2016 Senior Associate of the VEGAS LEX Energy practice Nikolay Linchenko spoke at the conference, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Management, in Nizhny Novgorod. His presentation, Current Legal Aspects of Power Supply to Industrial Facilities, covered the progress of the heat supply market reform; the altered criteria for territorial grid companies; the parties’ liabilities under the technological connection contract; ways to improve the payment discipline; and renewable energy, such as power generation from production and consumption waste.

On December 15, 2016, Counsel of VEGAS LEX Energy practice Yuriy Tatarinov spoke at the Environmental Management conference, which focused on changes of environmental legislation to come into force in 2017.

Mr. Tatarinov presented the strategy of the government’s domestic environmental policy focusing on three main points: environmental protection, a comprehensive strategy for the management of solid municipal (household) waste, water supply and sanitation. The expert drew attention to the need for industrial environmental monitoring and inventory of facilities that have a negative impact on the environment, on methods of legal regulation of waste disposal facilities’ operation. He also explained the procedure of elimination of cumulative effect and environmental damage, and the new rules for solid municipal waste treatment.
