VEGAS LEX discusses subtleties of public procurement of medicines

On December 6, 2016, VEGAS LEX hosted a workshop, Public procurement of medicines: home vs. away games, for employees of the Market Access, GR and Regulatory Departments, strategic development managers and lawyers of large pharmaceutical companies.

At the beginning of the workshop, Manager of Life sciences projects Maria Borzova commented on the general principles of procurement and selection of the pharmaceutical supplier. The participants examined some examples and different approaches to identifying customer needs, and discussed the competition authorities’ perspective on evaluating tender documentation.

Ms. Borzova also spoke about some potential approaches to deciding on the interchangeability of medicines, about criteria of bona fide procedure with no violations, and the acceptable wording for the description of customer needs.
