On April 26, 2016, the southern Russian city of Krasnodar hosted the II Business platform of South Onsite Power Generation for Enterprises*, organized by Redenex and supported by of the Industrial Policy Department of the Krasnodar Territory.

Head of VEGAS LEX Southern directorate Maxim Grigoryev moderated the plenary session, Distributed power generation and its role in shaping the investment and industrial potential of southern Russia. Acting Deputy Head of Industrial Policy Department of the Krasnodar Territory Vladimir Mostovoy also spoke at the meeting. During the debate, the participants discussed the advantages and disadvantages of launching onsite power generation, the most promising trends of power generation development in the Southern Federal District, and technological specifics important in the implementation of generation projects in the Southern Federal District, and other issues.

At the final financial and legal discussion, Mr. Grigoryev gave his expert opinion on the legal aspects of structuring relations between the customer (consumer) and the investor in case of attracting external financing for small-scale distributed energy projects, and gaining profit from retailing the extra electricity generated. He also highlighted the legal aspects of proper sale arrangements with regard to the “surplus” energy.
