Legal instruments for pharmaceutical business in theory and practice

On May 24, 2016, VEGAS LEX Manager of Life sciences projects Maria Borzova led a workshop on Applied lawmaking for pharmaceutical business, which covered the basics of legal theory and described a series of practical tools that can help companies work with legislative initiatives and strategic planning in the pharmaceutical industry.

During the workshop, the participants worked through several major information modules, including the fundamentals of law-making and how the industry can actually get involved in the process (taking into account the specifics of the pharmaceutical sector regulation); legal tools for dealing with regulatory documents; the legal framework structure and different interpretation methods that help achieve the industry's KPIs set forth in the regulatory documents; the basic tools of formal logic needed to quickly identify problems in the company’s documents, formulate the company’s position and respond to federal authorities’ requests.

Ms. Borzova explained in detail how to work with basic legal instruments citing examples of most pressing regulatory problems in the pharmaceutical industry and the medical devices sector.
