VEGAS LEX on energy pricing and growing energy bills at Samara Region industry conference

On November 27, the VEGAS LEX law firm attended an expanded meeting on energy saving, effective energy use and retail energy pricing organized by the Samara Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Committee on Energy Efficiency and Resource Saving of the Samara Region Employers’ Union.

The speakers included Anatoly Skobelev, vice president of the regional chamber of commerce; Konstantin Ryadnov, a member of the regional legislature; Oleg Zhadayev, the region’s deputy minister of industry and technology; Sergei Ulyankin, the region’s deputy minister of energy, housing and utilities; Olga Zolotaryova, head of the Committee on Energy Efficiency  and Resource Saving; Viktor Tsarkov, chairman of the Energy Supply Committee at the regional chamber of commerce; Evgeniy Rodin, head of the VEGAS LEX Energy Projects Practice; Alexander Vyazovik, head of the VEGAS LEX Volga Directorate; and members of the regional chamber of commerce and energy efficiency and resource saving committee.

VEGAS LEX experts explained to the audience the pricing specifics on retail energy markets, the reasons for the sharp rise in energy bills in 2013, and the possibilities of cutting consumer spending. The participants were particularly interested in the VL lawyers’ recommendations on how to protect the interests of industrial consumers while estimating the cost of their energy resources.
