VEGAS LEX AT INSURANCE BUSINESS FORUMOn 17-21 September, the Fifth Annual Insurance Business Forum “Challenges of 2018” was held in Sochi. At the Forum, the VEGAS LEX experts shared their relevant experience in insurance disputes. Over a hundred representatives from insurance and broker companies, from professional non-governmental organizations and insurance experts participated in the Forum. In the plenary session "Prospects for development of the types of insurance", Anastasia Cheredova, VEGAS LEX’s attorney, delivered a speech on the topic "Consideration of insurance disputes: judicial approaches and main problems". In her speech, Anastasia focused on the topical issues arising when qualifying events as insured events and inferring cause-and-effect relationship with incurred losses. Anastasia referred to experience of foreign countries, provided examples of contradictory Russian judicial practice and gave recommendations for a strategy for protection of the company’s interests.
